Audio Production Workshops

Students learn the fundamentals of voice and music mixing, using pre-recorded sound bites. Native American content of sound bites provides cultural foundation for audio production skills.

AIRCHECK: Audio Workshop

A hands on, by the numbers workshop which applies Audio Cassette Technology

to an exploration of Native language communications.

OBJECTIVES

Emphasis in these workshops is on student as teacher, or technician as instructor in the training process. This encourages project participants to help with basic level technical assistance with communications technologies in their communities, organizations, schools or groups.


Intro to Audio Cassette Technology

In the first session, participants review basic audio cassette equipment operations, connections and accessories, as well as tasking for recording and duplication.

AIRCHECK mixdown session

In the second session of this AIRCHECK workshop participant teams listen to and review Native American recordings which they discuss and organize in preparation for an "Aircheck" workshop mixdown.


AIRCHECK Audio Workshops are designed to provide indirect benefits to Native American communities as well as direct benefits to the workshop participants.

  1. First, in the direct benefit participants experience by taking part in the AIRCHECK workshop..
  2. Second, in the training and qualification of technicians capable of providing basic technical assistance with communications technologies in Native communities, organizations, schools or groups.
